Rotary Club of Peabody
About Our Club
The objective of Rotary is service — in the community, in the workplace, and throughout the world. Rotarians develop or participate in community service projects that address many of today's most critical issues such as children at risk, poverty and hunger, the environment, literacy, and violence. We also support programs for youth, educational opportunities and international exchanges for students, teachers, and other professionals, and vocational and career development. The Rotary motto is Service Above Self. There is no better way to feel good about yourself than to serve others!
To the Peabody Rotary Club “service above self” is not just a motto but a call to action. Locally members provide monthly meals at Haven from Hunger. Members have donated their time and effort to a Habitat for Humanity project in the community. The club annually awards college scholarships to Peabody students and has donated funds for tornado relief efforts. Internationally the Peabody Club has funded literacy programs in Guatemala, contributed to flood relief efforts in Pakistan and, in conjunction with Rotary International, has contributed to the eradication of Polio worldwide. These are just a few of the many local, national and international organizations and projects the Peabody Rotary Club supports.
We are a diverse group of men and women who bring a wide range of business and life experiences to our Club. We welcome new ideas and initiatives that promote the warm fellowship and fun that are hallmarks of our Club.
Rotarians everywhere embrace the provisions of the 4-Way Test -
Of the things we think, say and do:
Is it the TRUTH?
Is it FAIR to all concerned?
Is it FAIR to all concerned?
Will it build GOODWILL and BETTER FRIENDSHIPS?
Will it be BENEFICIAL to all concerned?
