The Peabody Rotary Club has been awarded a District Simplified Grant for $3300. for a community  project. The project with this grant along with added funds from the Peabody Rotary club will be a "Safe 2 Pedal Day" in Peabody. The objectives  of this project are to provide information on health & bike safety in our community. The "Safe 2 Pedal Day" will be held in Spring of 2009. The Rotary club will promote this day through distributing coloring/activity books about bike safety.  Topics such as where to ride and how to ride will be presented. The Rotary club will also distribute bike helmets. Peabody is anticipating the completion a new bike path in the Spring of 2009 in which the Rotary club hopes to tie into this "Safe 2 Pedal Day". The Rotary will work with other community groups to make sure parents are aware of having their child carry proper identification with them.
