I am privileged and honored to serve as President of the Rotary Club of Peabody for 2011-12. Our immediate past-president, Martha Holden, succeeded in her many goals and initiatives during her year as President, most notably in the areas of literacy, community development and global humanitarian efforts.

After a recent mid-life career change I realized that something was missing in my life. I had always given 100% to my career and my family. Now I was ready to give back to my community.  I was first introduced to Rotary back in 1990. As the Manager of a private club in Marblehead, I witnessed first-hand the many things Rotary stands for. In 2008, I was ready to join this fine service organization.

In 2011-12, our Club will continue in the fine tradition of providing humanitarian service and building goodwill and peace throughout the world. We will strive to become more visible in the community with the anticipated assistance from business owners and city officials. Partnering with the Peabody Access Television network will help us spread our message of “Service above Self”. We will explore the implementation and forming of an  Interact Club, a Rotary Club specifically geared toward high school students.   

I look forward to an exciting year for our Club and having the pleasure of working alongside the men and women who “reach within to embrace humanity”.
