On Saturday January 22, 2011, members of the Peabody Rotary Club participated in a day of service as part of the DMG Grant the club received for a service project in Basic Education & Literacy and Econonic & Community Development. The project is to help assist the Northeast Arc to complete a pottery studio which will service citizens with disabilities. Rotarians help prep the pottery studio by cleaning windows, washing walls and setting up shelving. Members will return at a later date to help paint the prepped walls. The pottery studio is targeted to open late spring and is planning a preview reception on March 3rd. The Peabody Rotary Club, along with the District grant monies, help fund a portion of the equipment and supplies to set up the Pottery Studio. When completed the Pottery Studio will service members of the community by offering pottery classes for a small fee.
