Meeting notes
Today's visiting Rotarians: None
Guests: None
****************************************
President Steve welcomed the sparse group of Rotarians. He reminded those on the Scholarship Committee to return the papers back to Cathy by Friday. They were due earlier this week.
*
Cathy has the sign-up sheet for the District Installation Dinner, which will be on Tuesday, June 30th at the Danversport Yacht Club. This super annual event is only $60 per person.
*
President Steve reminded us that the club's installation dinner will be on Wednesday, June 24th at the Wardhurst Restaurant. Details are forthcoming. There will be no meeting the following morning.
*
Grace mentioned that she received a letter from Brazil telling her that the clinic she helped get set up is looking for a mammogram machine--even used. If we could locate a donor, the shipping costs may be prohibitive. But give Grace any ideas.
*
Here's a picture of our guest speaker. (He didn't show up.)
*
BOARD MEETING DATE CHANGE, again:
The Board meeting will be on Thursday, May 28th, after our breakfast meeting.
*
**********************************************
Our speaker scheduler, Grace Martins, asks that you tell her of any people who may want to speak to the club or whom you think may be of
What do you do with your empty bottles and cans? (And we know there must be a lot of empty beer cans and bottles.) Please bring them (both beer and soda) to the meetings every week to give to Mel. Every nickel helps!! Mel thanks Dick Berg for his generous contributions.
******************************
Happy Dollars: This month's Sergeant-at-arms, Steve Padulsky, collected $33.
Reminder: If you see any news articles or pictures (not Rotary related) of our members, bring them in so the member can donate $$$ to the club. We can use the money!! But more important--we'd like to recognize and applaud our members.
******************************
50-50 Raffle: Neither President Steve nor Peggy Lyons (again) picked the Ace of Diamonds, so neither won the $94.

A man is driving down a country road, when he spots a farmer standing in the middle of a huge field of grass. He pulls the car over to the side of the road and notices that the farmer is just standing there, doing nothing, looking at nothing.
The man gets out of the car, walks all the way out to the farmer and asks him, "Ah excuse me mister, but what are you doing?"
The farmer replies, "I'm trying to win a Nobel Prize."
"How?" asks the man, puzzled.
"Well I heard they give the Nobel Prize to people who are out standing in their field."
It's easy to become a Rotary Sustaining member. It's $100 per year, but Loring can bill you $25 per quarter. That's $8.33 a month, or 28 CENTS a day, or a little over a penny an hour.
LET'S BECOME A 100% SUSTAINING MEMBER CLUB!!
THE 4-WAY TEST of the things we think, say or do:
1. IS IT THE TRUTH? 2. IS IT FAIR TO ALL CONCERNED? 3. WILL IT BUILD GOODWILL & BETTER FRIENDSHIP? 4. WILL IT BE BENEFICAL TO ALL CONCERNED?
