Marblehead Luncheon Cruise
Imagine how much fun it would be to take yourself and three friends for a day on the water off the coast of scenic Marblehead aboard a 38 foot private sailing yacht! A highly competent crew will do all the work. Your job will be to relax and enjoy the view. Or, if you want to participate, even steer, you're more than welcome.
Marblehead harbor is home to some of the finest cruising and racing yachts in New England, and three of the most exclusive yacht clubs in the country. Few, if any, crewed charter boats operate out of this location, making this opportunity all the more unique.
Your day will start and end at the private Corinthian Yacht Club on Marblehead Neck. The four hour cruise will begin with a gentle tour of the sights inside Marblehead harbor, eventually turning the corner at the famous Marblehead lighthouse, sailing into Salem Bay, and then out into open water. Depending upon weather and sea conditions the guests may request that the itinerary include a cruise along the north shore and Cape Ann coast line, a visit to incredibly scenic Manchester Harbor, or Gloucester. It's your cruise!
It should also be noted that this vessel is not just any 38 ft. cruising boat. For those not familiar, Rod Johnstone's brilliant J/37 is a true thoroughbred. Handmade in New England to very high standards, this design is faster than all but the most elite racing boats in Massachusetts Bay, while at the same time stable and comfortable.
A simple but delicious lunch will be served. Soft drinks will be provided, while guests are welcome to provide their own beer and wine if they choose.
Scheduling is quite easy. The vessel is typically available between mid-June and mid-September. We'll arrange a mutually convenient time, and a rain date.
Your captain will be a local Marblehead sailor with over 40 years experience, including multiple New England championships, a Newport to Bermuda race veteran, and a former deck officer on a 385 ft. four-masted schooner. One or two additional crew will also be present.
