What a special evening!!! Not only did we get to see the Red Sox honor the Celtics on the TV screens in our room, have great food and an open bar (many thanks to President Grace and almost President Steve), everyone had a great time!
President Grace listed all of our club's accomplishments during her year, including all $23,208.83 of donations so that our guests could hear why we all are ardent Rotarians and sometimes away from home longer than we'd like to be.
Since we have a small membership and EVERYONE was responsible for our successful year, President Grace named everyone as Rotarian of the Year and handed out Certificates of Appreciation to all.
President Grace then presented President-for-life-elect Steve Morad with a bottle of special wine (maybe so he won't whine?), and his wife, Lori, with a bouquet of flowers. In turn, President-for-life-elect Steve presented President Grace with her outgoing President's gavel.
Peggy Pedro made a presentation of the Paul Harris Fellowship to President Grace. Not to be outdone, Fred deNapoli awarded President Grace a second Paul Harris Fellowship and one to Tom Rowen. These awards are never made lightly and CONGRATULATIONS are in order to Garce and Tom!!!! Well deserved!!
It was a really enjoyable Rotary evening!!
*****
Would you like to help Mel Babner deliver food for the Citizens For Adequate Housing families, temporarily housed in Salem? Future delivery dates will be July 17th and further months. Anyone who would like to help Mel, please contact him.
*
What do you do with your empty bottles and cans? (And we know there must be a lot of empty beer cans and bottles.) Please bring them (both beer and soda) to the meetings every week to give to Mel Babner. Every nickel helps!! Mel Thanks Gayle Cavanaugh, Eastern Bank and Dick Berg for their generous contributions.
*
Our speaker scheduler, Gayle Cavanaugh, is asking that you tell her of any people who may want to speak to the club or whom you think may be of interest to the club.
*
Happy Dollars:
Reminder: If you see any news articles or pictures of our members, bring them in so the member can donate $$$ to the club. We can use the money!! But more important--we'd like to recognize and applaud our members.
