*************************

Thank you to everyone who helped man the Rotary table at the Business expo on Tuesday!  There was a good turnout and we had good representation from our club.

President Cathy passed around a signup sheet for the Y it Matters Program.  She would like volunteers to participate in the Wednesday evening program.  As a club, we donated $3000 to support this program and we would like everyone to try and donate one hour of their time.  Project examples and suggestions were also passed around and are available from Cathy if you need ideas.

John and Megan were inducted by President Cathy and Steve Smith!  We would like to officially WELCOME you to Peabody Rotary John and Megan!

*Club members - don't forget to sign their membership book... Sargent-at-Arms Steve will soon be on the lookout for missing signatures!

Ann gave her classification speech this morning.  She shared with us about her family, the time she loves spending with her kids, and all about her career with Eastern Bank.  Thank you for sharing with us Ann, and Welcome to the Peabody Rotary Club.  We are glad to have you with us!

Taste Update:

We have 3 more restaurants confirmed this week: Oliveiras, Carrabbas, and Woodmans!

Here is the latest list of participating restaurants:

Bertucci's, Brutole Restaurant, Capt's Waterfront Grill, Carrabbas, Century House, Danversport, Edible Arrangements, Oliveiras, Not Your Average Joes, Perfecto's Cafe, Polcari's, QDoba, Santoros, Teresa's Italian Eatery, Woodmans, and Wrappinis

Confirmation letters/emails are going to out to the restaurants this week. Bob has a contact at Sports World Memorabilia on Route 1. Bob will contact him this week about participating in the Taste.  If this new store works out, this will make the process of getting auction items more convenient and won't cost us money upfront!

The Taste was featured in the Peabody Weekly, and is also listed on the District’s home page www.rotary7930.org

On the sign up sheet I’ve been passing around, members have listed 98 tickets sold so far!  That’s 1/3 of the way there!

Don't forget ticket sales can be processed via credit card for their convenience!

Please continue to bring your updates and ticket money to every Thursday meeting!

*************************

Happy Dollars: We collected $54 this week for everyone’s happy thoughts!

Reminder: If you see any news articles or pictures (not Rotary related) of our members, bring them in so the member can donate $$$ to the club.  But more important--we'd like to recognize and applaud our members.

*************************

50-50 Raffle: That was a short raffle!

We just started a new deck last week and Loring picked the 5 of hearts already! He was the lucky winner of $28!

*************************

REMINDERS:

Our speaker scheduler, Grace Martins, asks that you tell her of any people who may want to speak to the club or whom you think may be of interest to the club.

*************************

Secretary Gary Epstein reminds members of Rotary's attendance requirements.  Members cannot miss more than three consecutive meetings without making up.  However, there are plenty of opportunities to make up.  Attend a Board meeting (All members are encouraged to attend, anyway.), attend a committee meeting, work on the website, and the most basic make-up--attend other clubs' meetings.  Be sure to steal ideas our club can use!!

*************************

What do you do with your empty bottles and cans?  (And we know there must be a lot of empty beer cans and bottles.)  Please bring them (both beer and soda) to the meetings every week to give to Mel.  Every nickel helps!!
